The Toronto African Violet and Gesneriad Society (TAVGS) is a community that shares information on African violets and Gesneriad plants. There is a lot of information on the internet, but sometimes it is difficult to determine, which applies to the health of your plants. At TAVGS monthly meetings are folks that have been growing and showing for many years and can advise you on care for you plants.
Monthly meetings are from January to June and September to December. The first part of each meeting starts off with society business, and a mini show. Members are also encouraged to bring in plants for show and tell or for advice, before breaking for refreshments and socializing. The second part of the meeting is the scheduled program , which can be an educational or informational presentation, hands-on workshop or informal discussions on a topic.
Members are encouraged to grow and show their plants at TAVGS Annual Show TAVGS Annual Show , usually schedule in April. There are many opportunities to purchase plants and leaves at monthly meetings, TAVGS Annual Show and at the Spring and Fall Sales
